Sunrise over Stanedge Edge, an original oil landscape painting, The Peak District,

Camping in Hope Valley, I walked the peaks of Stanedge Edge on a clear, but bitterly cold and windy morning to paint the magnificent views across the valley. I was captivated by the fast changing shadows cast across the valley by the strong winds, huddled between two rocks, I made watercolour sketches and took photographs of the views before coming back to my home studio to create these colourful, yet small oil paintings on artist board.
